Adrianne Haslet, the professional dancer who lost part of her left leg during the Boston Marathon bombings, will be making an appearance on the hit TV show Dancing with the Stars. Haslet has become a symbol of resilience during the aftermath of the terror that affected Boston and has promised that she will dance again.
Although no details have been shared regarding her role on the show, the ballroom dancer will appear on next week's episode. This must be so exciting for her!
Haslet has been among the number of victims who lost limbs after the attacks during Boston's prominent marathon. But many, including her, say that they will not allow their misfortune to define them. Haslet has even said that she plans on running in next year's marathon.

The U.K,'s Daily Mail reports that Haslet was in good spirits the morning of the Boston Marathon, especially because her Air Force Captain husband, Adam Davis, had recently returned home after four months of deployment. She became a victim after the second bomb exploded and mutilated her leg and all she recalled was shouting: "I'm a ballroom dancer! I'm a ballroom dancer! Save my foot!"
Her husband was also injured by the second bomb, but he made sure to aid Haslet's injured leg. The dancer confessess that she thought she was going to die when she saw how injured her leg was. She remembers waking up the next day in the hospital and thinking her foot was asleep. That's when her mother broke the news that she'd lost the foot in the explosion. So heartbreaking.
The brave dancer says that we should all move forward with fear, adding: "If we're afraid, the enemy wins."
It's great to see Haslet in good spirits despite her serious injuries and her energy is exactly what everyone needs right now. We can't let evil people control our lives, especially when we have so much to offer and live for. Rehab may take time for Haslet to complete, but I for one can't wait to see her on Dancing with the Stars. Who knows, maybe she'll even become a regular on the show!
