With the country still celebrating Veteran's Day, there's no better time to pay tribute to the past and current soldiers who have put their lives on the line to fight for their country. And apparently 13-year-old California boy, Joshua Neidorf, felt the same way! In an incredible act of kindness, the teen recently donated a big portion of his bar mitzvah money to Operation Mend, a program that reconstructs the faces of severely burned US veterans.
Neidorf was inspired after his family signed up to be the "buddy family" of Army Sgt. Louis Dahlman, who was visiting L.A. to undergo jaw reconstruction surgery with the help of Operation Mend. After spending time with the soldier__, Neidorf decided to donate an astounding $13,000 of his gifted money to the cause__. That is just amazing! How often do you see that kind of mature and selfless gesture coming from a 13-year-old boy?

As if that wasn't enough, Neidorf also screened a video of an interview with Dahlman to the guests of his bar mitzvah, encouraging them to make their own donations. "I just love knowing that it's going somewhere … to help the people who save our lives and keep us safe everyday," he told KCAL9.
I am seriously so awed by Neidorf's decision. The donation would have been an incredibly generous move on its own, but seeing it come from such a young boy is especially heartwarming. He is truly a great example of the difference people can make, no matter what age you are. I only wish everybody–teens and adults alike–were as considerate and as willing to help out as he is!
