Brave teen tracked down man who burglarized his home through Facebook!

I'm amazed at the astuteness of British teen Connor Kendall, who caught the burglar who broke into his home by tracking him down on Facebook. The 16-year-old and his family lost more than $1,600 dollars worth of stuff after someone broke in and stole a laptop, two watches, a digital camera, and camcorder. So how did Kendall manage to catch this guy if he had no leads?

Well, the bright boy and his friends tuned into their inner Sherlock Holmes and started investigating in a simple but effective way!

Despite the bad stuff that can come from Facebook, it has its good too! Kendall, who lives in Cornwall, England, could've put his life in danger if he hadn't approached this in a smart way, but I'm glad he went with a safer method. The teen and his friends, Jake Campbell, Alex Long, and Zak Landert, questioned peers in the area for clues about the burglar and eventually discovered that someone was selling his digital watch on Facebook.

All it took was an hour of investigation and soon they found out that the burglar was 22-year-old Jamie Fisher. Eventually police became involved and used the clues Kendall had dug up to track Fisher who admitted to the crime. In court, Fisher claimed that he needed money since he didn't receive benefits, but he used the cash he got for the laptop to buy marijuana. Yeesh, he could have at least put the money towards something useful!

Fisher is now spending a 28-month prison sentence and hopefully will learn his lesson from all of those days behind bars. As for Kendall and his friends, they may just be the perfect candidates for a career in private investigating .
