Entire school football team make a stand against bullying and defend disabled student (VIDEO)

Finally some positve news in regards to bullying! This time it's about kids doing good rather than causing harm to their peers. Chy Johnson is a 16-year-old sophomore at Arizona's Queen Creek High School and was born with a brain disorder which made her a victim of bullying.

Students bullied her to the point that she couldn't make it through a whole school day without getting picked on. But unlike most bullying victims having to fend them off alone, Johnson has an army of saviors in the form of the school's football team. Her mother, Elizabeth, was fed up with the bullying and decided to ask for help from family friend, Carson Jones, the Quarterback on the football team.

It's so refreshing to hear about kind souls looking out for those less fortunate than them. This poor girl was bullied so cruelly and didn't deserve that treatment.

Jones sweetly took charge of the situation and decided to make it a ritual to have lunch with the bullied disabled girl which influenced his teammates to protect her too. Ironically, pop culture stereotypes football players as the bullies, so I'm so glad to hear that these boys are disproving that theory.

Not surprisingly, Jones says the girl is no longer being bullied and Chy says: "They're not mean to me because all my boys love me." AW! If that isn't enough good news, Chy and the anti-bullying efforts by the football team are both going to be acknowledged during the Arizona Legislature in 2013.

If people spent more time focusing on the good instead of the bad, they'd be able to make more effective changes in the world. I applaud these young men for their efforts and hope others including their classmates are influenced by them.
