Now, I consider my abuelita a pretty strong woman. She taught college kids math (um, what?) while raising three kids and now she takes care of her grandkids. Although she lives a couple of states away with my aunt and cousin, whenever she comes to visit she's always cleaning the house, top to bottom, in every nook and cranny that you can imagine. Seriously, she cleans in places I never even thought could get dirty! That's why I've always known that grandmothers can do anything. But now that the Guinness World Record's oldest female bodybuilder and yoga teacher have come out, I really KNOW that they can!

The first amazing lady, Edith Wilma Connor, is a 77-year-old bodybuilder. She's one great mom, grandma and grandmother after entering her first bodybuilding competition on her 65th birthday, coming in first place and then becoming a certified personal trainer with "an emphasis on training the mature body." And BOY does she look great! She's taking care of her body by working out three times a week, although she doesn't diet, and taking care of her 16 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The other woman is 93-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch and she has just been named as the Oldest Living Yoga Teacher. 93 years old! That's incredible. Not only is it incredible that she's made it to such a ripe age but that she's still teaching 400 students at the moment. Although she had been interested in yoga early on, she had a full career doing almost anything but before embracing her yogic teaching calling at age 73 and turning that into her primary career. After her induction, she told Guiness World Records:
I believe that we can always reach just a little bit further. I'm inspired to bring yoga into others' lives along with helping people unearth new talents.

Seriously, these women are AMAZING. I am in absolute awe by both of them. I know a couple people that are pretty hardcore yogis and bodybuilders, but they're nothing compared to these ladies. They're really proving that abuelas all over the world can do anything they want—even when that means lifting heavy weights or inspiring people well into your 90's.
