Now, I'm not giving myself the Daughter of the Year award here, but I'd like to think I'm a pretty good to my parents. I always get them great birthday presents, talk with my mom every day and help them eat healthier because I'd like them to stick around a little longer. But a little boy in Texas has me beat by a mile. 6-year-old Drew Cox recently set up a lemonade stand to help raise money for his dad, who was diagnosed with Seminoma cancer three months ago, and somehow managed to raise $10,000 in one short day!
The story is so sweet, it's breaking my heart–and making me want to head down to Texas to buy a big glass of refreshing lemonade!

After his dad was diagnosed, Drew realized that he had to help in any way that he could, telling local news station KLTV, "He is so important to me, we love to play with each other."
Isn't your heart swelling? Mine sure is. It's not every kid that can do something so selfless at that age—and with such amazing results!
He set up the lemonade stand in his native Gladewater, TX and began by charging just 25 cents a cup. It's amazing, but by the end of the day, he had raised 10k to help with his dad's medical bills. If this kid isn't the best son, ever, then I don't know who is! We all want to help our parents (don't we?) but this little boy is really going above and beyond.

I'm so inspired by his dedication to his family. I don't know if I would have been smart enough to do the same at that age, but I'm glad that Drew is doing everything he can to help his dad…even if it does make me shed a tear or two.
Have you ever done something to financially help a parent through a tough time?
