One of the most priceless things in this world is our health. Taking care of ourselves physically should be of the utmost importance to us, but even when we do everything right, we still get sick. It doesn't matter how rich, beautiful, or successful you are, health issues and health scares can happen to just about anyone.

This is true for so many celebrities who have had to deal with complications and illnesses, and some have even found themselves at the hospital because of an accident. Situations like those put things in perspective for all of us and teach us to appreciate ourselves and to value our health. And sometimes, when we neglect ourselves, our bodies force us to take a break. Many stars, including Maluma, have had to put their busy schedules on hold to take care of themselves.

Famous people who have dealt with serious illnesses have usually been able to get treatment in time to save their lives. Others have gotten so sick that they've been forced to cancel shows and tours, like Selena Gomez, Shakira, and Lady Gaga. There are even celebs, including Mariah Carey, who have been injured on the job. Ouch!

Eva Longoria shared a photo of herself at the hospital.

The actress gave us a scare in May 2020 when she shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed with her baby boy, Santiago. "One year ago today I landed in Cannes for the film festival and had to have an emergency appendectomy!" she captioned the post. "It was my first Mother’s Day and I spent it in the hospital with my son #Memories #CannesFilmFestival." So scary! Sometimes illnesses happen when we least expect them.

Tom Hanks and his wife had a major scare.

The actor and his wife, Rita Wilson, contracted the coronavirus in March 2020. The couple tested positive for COVID-19 after falling ill during a trip to Australia. The actors were among the first people in Hollywood to open up about their diagnosis, and others joined in to share their positive results, hoping to make it clear that no one was immune from the virus.

Cardi B was hospitalized for stomach pains.

The Grammy winner shared a photo of her hospital bracelet at the time with the information about her stay.

Wisin fell off the stage at one of his concerts.

The rapper was closing out a show along with Yandel, when he began walking backwards without realizing part of the stage was still open. He fell right into the hole and was taken to the hospital to treat his minor injuries.

Kylie Jenner suffered a scare when her baby girl got sick.

Kylie spent a whole day in the hospital with her baby girl, Stormi, after the 1-year-old suffered an allergic reaction. The beauty mogul shared a photo of her baby resting up at home after the scare.

Dayanara Torres is being open with her fans about her battle with cancer.

Thalía is continuously fighting a battle against Lyme disease.
