Celebrities are human, and like all humans, they can experience fluctuations in their weight. For those of us not in the public eye, our weight changes aren't of much interest to anyone other than ourselves or maybe our mothers and that judgy tía that we try to avoid. That's not the case for celebrities. Any little change they experience gets noted and commented on. One of the latest celebrities to almost break the internet without even trying is the singer Adele and she did it by posting a picture of herself where she is slimmer than we've ever seen her. Her post actually had nothing to do with weight loss, but that's kind of what made it get so much attention.
More from MamásLatinas: Times the Kardashian-Jenners flashed their wealth unnecessarily
Adele posted a cute picture of herself and thanked fans for the birthday wishes she received. She turned 38 years old on May 5 and posted the pictured with the caption: "Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you're all staying safe and sane during this crazy time. I'd like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels ♥️ 2020 okay bye thanks x." It was a sweet picture and a thoughtful message. The reaction to the picture was intense because people could not believe their eyes.
Adele, of course, isn't the only celebrity to call attention to themselves because of a change in physique. We've got some other examples to share with you as well. Before we get to them, it's important to remember that celebrities are humans with human feelings just like our own and that we should always be respectful. Bodies change, but the souls inside of them aren't better or worse depending on how much or how little the body that houses them weighs. Just sayin' 'cause people can be really mean and judgy like that dang tía we're always trying to avoid.
Adele is always beautiful.
This is a picture of Adele at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012. She looks radiant in that black shimmery dress that showed off her curvy silhouette. Adele has been famous for some time now and we were all used to her being curvy even though she’s been losing weight consistently for a few years now, which will become very apparent in the next picture.
This is the picture that Adele posted the day after her birthday.
Again, looking all kinds of fabulous in a black dress and notably less curvy. We love the sleeves on that dress! As for how others reacted? Well, she got a lot of compliments, but our favorite comment is from Oprah Magazine because it reads: "Our birthday gift should be an Adele 2020 album, yes?!" We say, YES to that suggestion!
Christina Aguilera has gone up and down in weight over the years.
In 2012, she admitted that she got tired of being "a skinny, white girl." She always looks good to us regardless of her weight. Especially, when you think about how she practically grew up in front of our eyes. That's gotta be hard for anyone to go from being a girl into a full-fledged woman with everyone watching.
At one point Xtina dropped 49 pounds while appearing as a judge on 'The Voice.'
According to Life & Style, she switched to a strict diet and limited alcohol. That's a major difference! But, again, she's beautiful either way. Cue her song "Beautiful" because she is "in every single way."
America Ferrera has always been proud of her curves.
She did star in the movie Real Women Have Curves after all. Here she is at a press event in 2005. The actress decided to make some healthy changes to her life and became more psychically fit, which led to a change in her appearance.
The Latina star has dropped 30 pounds and completed a triathlon.
Please don't think that she did anything drastic or dangerous to slim down. That's not her style at all. She's all about dropping pounds the healthy way.
Eiza Gonzalez appeared beautiful and curvy in Mexico's 'Next Top Model' event back in 2011.
Now she has a totally different body type and has been bullied for it. She's definitely lost a lot of weight, but why is that an excuse to attack her for her appearance? And then after getting criticized for losing weight, she gets shamed for having cellulite. Sigh.
In 2013, the Mexican star showed off her slender figure.
One year later, she gained 14 pounds after speculations came out of her having an eating disorder. Imagine being scrutinized so much. It can't be easy for a young woman who makes a living on camera. She can never seem to weigh the right amount whatever that is according to her critics.
Jennifer Hudson was a size 16 back in 2005.
When Jennifer Hudson first came onto the scene via American Idol, she was a gorgeously curvy young woman with a voice that could not be ignored. Later, she joined a popular diet plan and lost a lot of weight.
Jennifer Hudson is now a slimmer version of herself.
She said the weight loss made her feel more confident. If she feels more confident slimmer then good for her. She is beautiful no matter what. And that voice of hers is phenomenal regardless of her dress size.
Nicole Richie looked way curvier in the early 2000s.
When she was the show The Simple Life with Paris Hilton from 2003-2007, Nicole Richie was cute and curvy. She's always been petite, but was definitely curvier back then. And then she lost a lot of weight and there have been reports claiming that she battles anorexia nervosa.
This is what the star looked like after dropping a drastic amount of weight in 2006.
In 2014, it was also reported that she lost 88 pounds on a diet based on seeds, celery, and juice. Nicole remains slim and seems quite happy. We certainly can't opine on her health because we are not doctors and we don't think others should be making judgments on her health just by looking at her.
Khloé Kardashian always felt like the bigger sister when 'KUWTK' started its fame in 2008.
The thing is that she isn't supposed to look like anyone other than herself, but still she kept getting compared to her sisters as if there is a Kardashian mold that she's supposed to fit. She has always been statuesque and stunning in our opinion.
Khloé Kardashian dropped some weight and is all about being fit.
"I feel so good in the gym that it [affects] the rest of my day. It’s a healthy addiction. It’s like buying your sanity!” she told People. She's even got a show called Revenge Body. Honestly, the whole "revenge" shouldn't even be a part of the mindset, though, should it? It should just be about feeling good for yourself and your life.
June 'Mama June' Shannon became famous in the hit reality series 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.'
She reportedly weighed 460 pounds back in 2013. For her new WE TV series, Mama June: From Not to Hot, she underwent a gastric sleeve and skin removal surgeries. As expected, she looks very different after having had those procedures.
She dropped down to a size 12 while trying on wedding dresses.
After that she went down to a size 4. She attributed the change in weight to being consistent with her diet and exercise routine. She has since gained back some of the weight that she lost because it happens, you guys. It happens because we are human and not machines.
