6 Ways to detox after a holiday of overindulging

As much as I love the holidays, I can't handle the post-overindulging guilt that kicks in days after. Fortunately, there are ways to get yourself back on track after a holiday binge. Here are a few tricks and tips to help keep you on track throughout the new year.

Get over the guilt.

It’s one thing to want to stay on the healthy track, it’s another thing to drown yourself in guilt. Trust me, it won’t help you. If anything the stress of it all would probably trigger you to continue slacking. So lose the guilt and keep it moving.

Drink a detox tea.

Loading up on carbs and red meat can results in digestive issues like constipation and bloating. So make sure to incorporate a detox tea that’s going to help stimulate your digestive system as well as rid your body of toxins. I love Kushmi Tea Detox ($22) and Yogi Detox Tea ($4).

Drink more water.

Aside from hydrating, drinking plenty of water also helps to clean out your system and release toxins and waste. So make sure to drink up!

Load up on fruits and veggies.

You want to make sure that you’re eating plenty of fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber, like kale, spinach, beans, and berries.

Take probiotics.

I’ve been taking probiotics for years, but they especially come in handy this time of year as they help to support a healthy gut and digestive system. Try Culturelle Digestive Health Probiotic ($30).

De-bloat with a fresh drink.

Adding chia seeds to a glass of coconut water or a green smoothie in the morning helps de-bloat. It’s a great way to start off the day on a flat-belly note.
