SEE: Couple loses 280 lbs together & you have to find out how!

Losing weight is a challenge on its own, but it is easier when you have someone supporting you every step of the way. Robert and Jessica Foster knew that it was time to lose some weight when they both tipped the scale at around 300 pounds each. Robert weighed 327 pounds while Jessica was weighing in at 287 pounds. Both were obese, but Jessica knew something had to change as her 30th birthday approached in 2012.

That was when she and Robert decided to lose weight for good in order to be in better shape for their kids and improvement of their health.

Jessica was focused on the goal to achieve a healthy weight and was motivated by her family. "I adore my kids and I love my husband very much, but there was that point I hated myself so much. I wasn't giving them the full me because I was disgusted," she said.

They both started off slowly with their weight loss challenge as they transitioned to a diet rich in whole grains, lean meats and vegetables. Robert stopped taking seconds at dinner and started playing tennis, while Jessica took up Zumba classes. As they started seeing changes in their bodies, the Fosters began taking up more physical activities such as hiking and swimming. Eventually Robert started participating in races doing 5Ks and eventually built up to a full marathon.

Jessica ended up losing 120 pounds and Robert 160, leaving them at a healthy 167 pounds. "I love myself. I like what I'm seeing in the mirror. I know there's some work to still be done," she said, "but I'm such a different person than I was before." That's an amazing accomplishment!

It always amazes me when people drop a significant amount of weight and manage to keep it off. In the Fosters' case they completely transformed their lifestyle and improved their bad habits. It's excellent that they made changes for the better because this is how they can influence their children to live life healthily.
