You don't have to completely eliminate the hot dogs and the beer from your diet this summer, but you should be wary on overdoing it. Below are the 5 worst summer foods you should try to avoid tand some alternatives to help you avoid packing on the pounds.
Cocktails: I love pina coladas as much as the next girl, but I know there are tons of calories and sugar in one sugary cocktail. Instead opt for a glass of wine or a light beer to avoid sabotaging your diet.
Hot dogs & fatty meat: Avoid eating super sized hot dogs or burgers and instead go for their smaller and leaner versions. Lean chicken dogs and burgers are the best and avoid going crazy with fatty toppings to keep calories low.
Ice cream: I love ice cream during time of the year. Everything about them is tempting but dairy and sugar isn't exactly bikini friendly. Stick to smoothies or homemade ices instead. Frozen Yogurt (without all that added sugar) can be a nice alternative here too.
__Lemonade or iced tea:__There's nothing more that I enjoy during a hot summer day than a glass of lemonade or ice tea. The problem is that the way it's sold and typically made includes LOTS of sugar. Instead, try unsweetened versions of your favorite beverages and sweeten them with stevia or pieces of fruit.
Creamy salads: I bet you love your tia's potato or macaroni salad, but keep portions very small. Salads with mayonnaise contain lots of fat and calories you don't need. Instead opt for greek yogurt and other light bases to mix in salads and cut back on calories.
