If you look at Sofia Vergara, chances are the first thing you notice (besides her boobs) is that she's in great shape. If you've ever taken a pilates class then you know that it is challenging and effective. Recently I visited Vergara's favorite pilates studio in New York City, Strengthen, Lengthen and Tone (SLT), where I challenged my body to the point I was sore for the next few days. I always underestimated pilates as a good workout because I like exercises that require more energy. Boy, was I wrong.
This class not only helped me be more in tune with my breathing, but it challenged my body by stretching it in ways I've never done before. SLT uses pilates reformer machines which look intimidating at first, but my instructor Caitlin Krause managed to guide me through the whole workout. For the next few days my inner thighs, butt and arms were super sore–but in a good way–and I can totally understand why Vergara is addicted to it.
In fact, you too can do this workout at home even without spending thousands of dollars on a reformer machine. Check out these classic pilates moves below!
