This should be the first thing you drink in the morning. It gets your metabolism going strong, starts your body burning fat and assures you're well hydrated and full of energy.

I know we're all in a mad rush in the mornings but this is something you must make time for. Eat a breakfast with whole grains, protein and a good fat. This will assure you have the energy to start your day and you won't crash mid-morning.

Drink ice cold water

Your body will actually burn fat lowering the icy cold water to body temperature. Studies show you can lose 7.2 pounds per year just by drinking the recommended 8 ounces of water per day. This is an important, but easy habit.

Pre-make your food

When you have a little extra time on Sunday pre-make some meals to serve through-out the week. Then when you come home hungry and tired you'll be less likely to go through the drive-through or order a pizza. You'll already have meals ready to pop in the oven or microwave that are healthy and ready to go. Preplanning and organization can make the difference in sticking with any diet plan.

Plan your daily exercise routine

Your body is a temple and it's the only one you've got. But for many people, it's the last thing they take care of. Make exercise a priority in your life. Decide at what time each day you're going to exercise and then stick to the plan–no matter what. Don't get distracted by other things that really aren't as important in the long run. Let your family know this is your time and teach them to respect your goals of living a healthier lifestyle. Hopefully, they'll want to join in. If not, you're still setting a healthy example that they can follow if they choose to change their habits in the future.
