I make an effort to eat as many nourishing foods as I can on a daily basis and that includes detoxifying foods. You would be surprised just how toxic your body can become that it's important to cleanse it everyday. There are some foods that are more detoxifying than others though and are must-haves on your grocery shopping list!

Although I try and eat as well as I can I know that I'm learning new things everyday about the various super foods out there. You can even find detoxifying foods in your own fridge as we speak that would benefit you tons if you start taking them daily. By eating these daily you will not only feel healthier, but if you have some pounds to lose, they will fall off with ease.
Avocado: This popular Latino fruit contains mono-unsaturated fats that are good for heart health and can even block out bad fat. Add some to you salads, smoothies, even sandwiches.
Broccoli: Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli are chockful of antioxidants which prevents cancer from occuring within the body.
Dandelion: The leaves in this plant include phytonutrients that are good for the digestive system and keeping your liver healthy. Add some to your smoothies, juices or salads to get your fix.
Flax and chia seeds: These two super foods are known to flush out toxins through your intestinal tract. You also get your daily fill of omega-3 fatty acids simply by adding them to your smoothies, oatmeal, or beverages.
Lemon: Although it's a citrus fruit, lemon neutralizes in the body and is a great way to balance out the body of acidity. Its substance is also helpful to change toxins into a water based matter that allows it to be easily eliminated from the body.
