I don't know about you, but being constipated makes me feel backed up literally and figuratively. It's not a pretty topic to talk about, but it happens to the best of us and it's never pleasant. Fiber helps keep you full, is important to keep your weight at bay, and to keep your bowel movements regular on a daily basis. Most people turn to over-the-counter products such as laxatives or enemas if they are plagued with constipation.
Well, you can kiss those options good-bye, because there are an amazing number of natural ways to beat it. You no longer will suffer from painful poops caused by some generic laxative. Instead you will love these other options I have for you, plus it's awesome health benefits.
Chia seeds: These little seeds offer lots of soluble fiber which becomes gel-like when added to water and help moves things gently along the digestive tract.
Flax seeds: Much like chia seeds, flax can help with constipation. Take up to three tablespoons and drink water to wash it down to get your daily fill.
Beans: As a common staple in our food, beans help maintain a healthy digestive tract. A single serving of kidney beans can offer 8.2 grams of fiber which can help relieve you of the digestive discomfort.
Aloe vera: This plant that you're used to applying on sunburns helps relieve constipation too. The juice has anthroquinone glycosides which are a natural laxative and is gentle on the body.
Fruits, whole grains, and vegetables: These are the most common ways to beat constipation. It's best to eat cruciferous veggies and fruits such as berries to relieve the problem. Avoid white breads and stick with whole grains such as brown rice, oatmeal, and whole grain cereals.
