The last thing you want to do when attending holiday parties is to deprive yourself of all the delicious pastries and meals served at the dinner table. You can relax because we've come up with easy ways to STILL eat what you want without packing on the pounds.
To prevent the extra weight gain from sneaking up on you, follow the next tips:
Eat from small plates: You're more likely to overeat if you eat from larger plates. It's a great way to trick your mind into thinking you're eating more and you can still eat your favorite foods except in smaller portions.
Pile up on fruits or veggies first: Remain full by filling up on fruits and veggies before the actual dinner meal. This will prevent you from eating more than a regular portion size of full and keep your weight at bay.
Stay distracted: One of the easiest way to eat everything on the appetizer table is by sticking near it. Instead make sure to move around the room and strike up conversations which will keep you occupied until dinner time.
Stay active: The holidays shouldn't be an excuse to skimp on your workout. Go for a run, dance, take a long walk, anything that will help you burn calories from the meals you've eaten.
Limit alcohol intake: It's easy to drink a little too much during the festivities therefore it's best to monitor it from the beginning. Make sure to pace yourself and drink water in between and not mix alcohols.
