I now look forward to a good cleanse or detox at least once a year, but particularly just before starting a new diet. I'm not going to lie. It wasn't easy at first since some of the detox formulas out there are hard for me to drink without pinching my nose. Fortunately for us, there's all sorts of great smoothie recipes and shakes that find in natural ingredients the best allies for detoxing and weight loss. Besides, add a little coconut water, honey, or berries to any shake and you will fall in love with any detox smoothie. Here's a recipe for one of my favorite smoothies.

Think of detox as a healthy way to eliminate toxins from your body. What better way to take the first step towards a life of better eating, one that will also prepare the organism to burn fat and ultimately help with weight loss?
This smoothie features the wonderful properties of radishes, but also has one of my favorite ingredients ever, coconut water, and gets its sweetness from raspberries (frozen or fresh) and a bit of honey. Hope you love it as much as I do!
Radish and coconut water detox smoothie
Good enough for one smoothie!
Ingredients:
4 chopped radishes (greens and all!)
1 cup coconut water
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 bannana
1/2 cup of raspberries
1/2 teaspoon of 100% natural honey
1 pinch of sea salt
1/2 cup of ice
Directions:
1. In an electric blender, blend radishes and coconut water.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the ice, and blend again.
3. Add the ice and pulse until ice is crushed into smoothie consistency. Add more ice as needed.
4. Enjoy.
