Spend time with friends
Make a weekly lunch date, join a running group, start a book club–whatever you need to do to keep your social schedule packed! Why?! People with a solid group of friends are 50 percent more likely to survive at any given time than those without ones, according to the book Friendsfluence. Meanwhile, being a loner is actually on par with smoking 15 cigarettes a day and is actually worse for your health than not exercising!
Travel to new places
Going on adventures to new places and expanding your horizons improves your brain and boosts learning and memory skills. Plus, you get a vacation! Win-win!
Incorporate blueberries in your diet
These berries are packed with vitamins, fiber, and anxtioxidants and contain manganese, which helps with bone health and metabolism. If you like fruity beverages, wild blueberry juice actually aids memory and can boost your mood.
Walk more, drive less
Driving is dangerous–more dangeorus than most people think. And driving less and walking/biking/running more will not only help keep you active, it'll also be good for the environment since vehicle emissions are a major source of pollution.
Have sex
Not that anyone needs much convincing on this one, but researchers have actually found a connection between living longer and having regular enjoyable sex (which means no faking in the bedroom!). It can even help you look younger!
Satisfy your sweet tooth
You can indulge in your sweet treat cravings, as long as you do so in the right way. Eating a little dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and decrease risk of heart attack and stroke.
Sleep
As mentioned before, keeping fit and being social is healthy … but not if you're sacrificing all your sleep to do it. Getting seven to eight hours a night is optimal amount. Getting anything less than that for long periods of a time can have serious consequences on your brain functions and your life expectancy.
Get your caffeine fix
Whether you're a coffee drinker or prefer tea, drinking a few cups of either a day has been linked to causing as much as a 50 percent lower risk of developing diabetes, endometrial cancer, and depression. If you drink tea though, avoid milk as it can cancel out the drinks cardiovascular benefits and just add a little honey and lemon!
Exercise
Maybe it's obvious, but this is a biggie! Just 15 minutes of exercise a day can buy you an extra three years of life!
Eat fish
The omega-3 fatty acids found in fish can help lower the risk of age-related disease like like coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis and Alzheimer's.
