Being in love can easily ruin your healthy ways and making you gain what we call "love chub". This extra weight is not necessarily a bad thing because it means you're comfortable and happy in your relationship. However, those extra pounds aren't exactly good for your health and you're probably looking to burn them off as soon as possible.

We've all been there when we get a bit too comfortable into a relationship and soon you realize that the only things that still fit you are your sweatpants. Your gym membership probably hasn't see the light of day in awhile too–which is why we're here to prevent you from falling into the most common relationship trap.

Prepare meals at home: It's understood that when you're in a committed relationship or when you first start dating that you're constantly eating out. Eating out can easily sabotage your weight with the big portion sizes restaurants serve, plus overindulging with dessert. Instead, check out healthy recipes online of your favorite foods and opt to stay in and cook together.
Go on gym dates: If you find yourself either in bed or always on the couch watching TV, it's time to get your butt moving. If you have a hard time getting motivated, going with your other half is a great idea! You'll both remain in great shape and keep each other going.
Minimize your food portions: Eating with a man can easily influence you to eat like one. Make sure you cut back on the amount of food you eat around him–since men naturally eat more than us. Otherwise you'll be looking at a new wardrobe in a bigger size.
Weigh yourself: Keep track of your weight occasionally to make sure you aren't tipping the scale. If you see those pounds creeping up, adjust your diet accordingly. Weighing in weekly can be a good way to stay on top of maintaining a healthier physique and keep that love chub from creeping in.
Make a plan: Being in a relationship doesn't mean you have to give up taking the yoga classes you used to take when you were single. If staying in shape is a priority of yours it shouldn't have to take a backseat to your relationship. Compromise with each other and make sure he knows that if you plan on taking an aerobics class at 7 a.m. you mean it–and no, he can't coax you to stay in bed longer.
