Fat fighting foods that will have you feeling the burn

Slipping back into your summer clothes could be a struggle, but the key is to make sure you are eating fat-busting foods. There's no need to starve yourself or crash diet to lose weight. In fact, by adding these special fat fighting foods, you could even burn up to 300 calories a day!

As I'm looking to shed my winter fat–and I'm sure you are too, I want to slim down WITHOUT the weight loss gimmicks. So when I came across this list of fat-fighting foods, you bet your butt I added them to my grocery list!

You're probably wondering: What is it about these foods that separate them from the rest? The answer is their ability to make your body work harder at burning calories and stores less fat than if you were to eat processed foods. Processed foods don't have the same effect on your body which is why what you eat gets stored as unwanted fat.

Add these five foods to your shopping list this week and you'll see that all you need to do is pull the switch and bait move to successfully bust that stubborn fat.

Salmon: This fatty fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids which help you build more muscle and may reduce the amount of fat your body stores. Keep in mind the more muscle you build, the more calories you will burn daily.

Avocado: One of my ultimate favorite fat-fighting foods, avocados provide you with 14 grams of fiber and boost your metabolism. This superfood also keeps your blood circulating because of its fatty acids, antioxidants, and healthy monounsaturated fats.

Beans: If you're cutting back on meat, beans are a perfect replacement. Research has shown that by eating foods with resistant starch (a fiber found in bananas and whole grains) it forces your body to use extra energy to digest it. This means you can boost your ability to burn fat up to 24 percent more.

Low fat dairy: Yogurt and other forms of dairy can help you burn more fat because of its qualities. The probiotics and calcium found in yogurt and other dairy fight the bulge by preventing belly fat from accumulating and help burn more calories.

Hot peppers: Jalapeño, Havanero, and any other type of chili peppers: These spicy peppers contain capsaicin which causes the body to boost its burning power to the max. You can torch from 50 to 100 calories just while eating the spices.
