Well, here it is: you have to start planning ahead and writing down what you're eating.

Today's tip is to get a journal and start writing down what you eat and what you want to eat. Why do this? Well, planning ahead is actually going to help you stay on track throughout the week. The way I do this is I keep a note in my phone, with the days of the week and all of the different meals. Then, on Sunday morning, I take a look at the coming week and fill in the general spots that I already know will be taken up.

For instance, I start out by filling in my breakfasts: typically a healthy oatmeal, yogurt or scrambled eggs dish. I try to vary it so that I don't get bored day-by-day. Then I fill in any evening that I know I will be dining out. Next, I fill in my lunch plans, which typically includes one trip to my favorite lunch spot and then the rest of my meals are leftovers that I make over the weekend (typically slow cooker soups and stews).

Last but not least, of course, comes the planning part. Since I do my grocery shopping mid-day on Sunday, knowing where my food gaps are allows me to plan healthy dinners for my family. For instance, if I know that I need to cook on Monday and Thursday, I can make sure to look up some healthy Latin recipes and make sure that I am well-stocked to cook them when the time comes.

Since studies have proven that journaling about your food is the single best way to lose weight, according to WebMD.com, this is definitely a great way to start the next half of your month. So, get to it and start WRITING IT DOWN!
