Today's tip is going to bring us back to our healthy eating habits. Remember how I asked you to add at least one fruit or vegetable to every single one of your meals as Tip #3? Well, today's tip takes that to another level: Meatless Monday!
Meatless Monday is an international campaign whose goal is to encourage people not to eat meat on Mondays in order to improve their health (good for us losing weight!) and the health of the planet. That's right, I'm asking you to commit to not eating ANY meat today and the Mondays going forward.
Okay, I know what you're probably thinking right now: "Is she CRAZY?! Has she SEEN the way Latinos eat?" Oh, trust me, I know. I practically grew up on red meat. However, cutting out meat (and I mean also chicken, fish, etc.) for just one day isn't as difficult as it sounds.
First of all, you're going to ADD IN a lot more vegetables and fruit to your diet today. But that also doesn't mean that all you can eat is a banana for breakfast and a salad for lunch and dinner. The point of doing Meatless Monday is to actually try new recipes that you never would have imagined were "meatless" and still delicious.
And that's the point, isn't it? Vegetarian food IS delicious, if you let it be. Check out some of our favorite Latin vegetarian recipes and don't be afraid to indulge in them today!
