New flu shot might keep you healthy for life

Despite having a couple of tattoos, I am still pretty terrified of needles. I mean, they hurt and they're annoying and it takes almost all of my strength and willpower to deal with them on any level, especially when it comes to my yearly flu shot. That's why I'm the happiest I could ever imagine being when I found out that scientists in Germany are developing a new flu vaccine that may work for life.

The hopefully-soon-to-come vaccine is "based on a molecule related to DNA currently protects animals against influenza and may one day offer a fast way to develop new shots for humans." According to The Daily Mail, if scientists find that it DOES work on humans, then that could mean a new commercial flu shot designed and manufactured in weeks. That's right, weeks!

I have to say, this vaccine can't come soon enough. Although I've already gotten my shot this year, I'm always worried about the coming years since fighting influenza is getting more difficult thanks to the mutating strains of the virus. 

Granted, I don't know how fast the possible new lifelong flu vaccine will be available for kids but it definitely makes me feel even safer for the future.
