You can keep yourself from going overboard on Thanksgiving and you can also lighten up Thanksgiving dinner but the thing that will REALLY help you keep the weight off this Holiday season is exercise. 1. Hiking (360 calories): Taking a long walk with your family can be as simple as taking an hour to walk around the neighborhood. You can also make it more fun by finding a trail nearby and absorbing some nature.
2. Ice Skating (420 calories): Whether you live in warm or cold weather, I bet there's a skating rink around. It's the perfect post-Christmas tree decorating activity, don't you think? It's especially fun for the kids!
3. Bike Riding (500 calories): There's absolutely nothing I love more than riding bikes with my family. You don't even have to buy bikes if you don't have them, since many cities have stores that will rent them, too.
4. Bowling (180 calories): Hey, why not a family bowling date? That's going to be SO much fun–plus any member of your family can do it, whether they're young or old. Even better: try glow-in-the-dark midnight bowling!
5. Futból or Football (450 calories): Sure, it's tradition to play flag football on Thanksgiving but that's not the only fun you can have! I personally prefer to play some soccer with everyone before and after dinner.
