Want to know the easiest way to lose weight? I think everyone is. I, for one, am always looking for some way to lose those few extra pounds that I seem to regain around this time of year (candy from Halloween, overeating during Thanksgiving, fattening pernil everywhere for Christmas), and now researchers seemed to have found the key to weight loss–and it will absolutely SHOCK you!
Here's the thing that made my mouth drop open: This new weight loss plan actually doesn't ask people to lose any weight at all. At least, not at first. Doesn't that almost sound too crazy to actually work?

Well, according to Wbay.com, scientists did a study with overweight women where they divided them into two groups: the "maintenance first" group, which spent the first eight weeks "learning skills like portion control, making healthier choices, and increasing activity levels" and the second group, "weight loss first", which started on the weight loss track right away.
You'd think that the "maintenance first" group failed miserably in their efforts but not only did both groups lose the same amount of weight during the study, but a year later the maintenance group actually kept more of the weight off.
Well, to be honest, I think this makes a lot of sense. It only goes to show you that weight loss isn't about quick diets, it's about lifestyle change. If these women can learn to change the way they live and eat healthier in the long run, then so can the rest of us.
