Lose weight with just two minutes of exercise daily, no really!

Want to hear the BEST news, EVER?! Or, at least, the best news when it comes to exercise and losing weight: scientists have just discovered that all you really need to lose weight and keep it off is about two and a half minutes of exercise a day. No, seriously! Isn't that just the most amazing thing you've ever heard? As someone who isn't such a huge fan of the gym, it's certainly the best news I've heard in ages. Let me explain.

A new study has shown that a concentrated, intense effort can burn as many as 200 calories so long as the spurts are "broken up with longer periods of easy recovery", according to a story in The Daily Mail

It's just the latest proof that high intensity workouts are really the best. Plus, this just goes to show you that you really CAN lose weight while watching TV, since my new plan is pretty much to get up and do those two and a half minutes of intense exercise during every commercial break. Doesn't that just sound good?

As researcher Kyly Sevits said about this new study: 

Research shows that many people start an exercise program but just can't keep it up. The biggest factor people quote is that they don't have the time to fit in exercise. We hope if exercise can be fitted into a smaller period of time, they may give it a go.

Well, lucky for us, now we have NO EXCUSES to not exercise–I mean, really, who can't fit in two and a half minutes of intense running, jumping, or other exercise. In fact, I'm going to do it right now. Want to join me?
