I'm not the biggest sweet tooth in the world but I'm a really big snacker. Some afternoons the clock will strike 4pm and I'll be dying to get my hands on some chocolate or chips. If I'm really craving something, I'll even go for some sort of chocolate bar, with my favorites being Snickers or mini M&Ms.
But since I'm always trying to watch my figure because I don't want to regain the 100 pounds I lost a few years ago, I try to go for healthier or lower in calories snacks when I can find them. Now it looks like my search will be a little easier, since Mars, Inc. (who makes M&Ms, Snickers, Twix and 3 Musketeers) has vowed to stop making candy that has more than 250 calories per portion.

So does t his mean that they'll also stop producing king-sized candy bars all together? Probably. In a statement on their website, Mars said:
"We have a responsibility to help our consumers and the pets they love lead healthy lives. We are committed to making sure the products we offer, and the ingredients they contain, can fit into a balanced diet."

I'm really impressed by their efforts to make their products, which includes Dove chocolate, pet food, some gum brands and Uncle Ben's rice, healthier for the public. Plus, it'll make my snack-picking choices a little bit easier, knowing that all of their products fit my calorie requirements.
Are you more likely to buy Mars candy now, knowing that they will all soon have less calories?
