The Kardashian-Jenner family doesn’t do anything halfway. When it comes to holidays, birthdays, vacations, you name it, the reality stars/business moguls go all out. Recently, Kourtney Kardashian shared photos of her over-the-top Christmas trees and holiday decor—but not everyone was impressed.

Kourtney is the eldest of Kris Jenner‘s famous children. The Poosh founder is a mom of four kids: Mason, 14, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9, whom she shares with her ex, Scott Disick, and Rocky, 1, whom she shares with her husband, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. And her 2024 festive decorations prove that Kourt isn’t afraid to go a bit overboard for the sake of Christmas spirit.
Kourtney Kardashian kicked off December with a glimpse at her 2024 Christmas decorations.
On December 1, Kourtney took to Instagram with a carousel of photos after decking the halls of her Calabasas mansion. She captioned her update: “hello December.” The featured image showed a giant tree adorned with simple white lights in what appeared to be the foyer of her home.
In other photos, Kourt showed off more elaborate decor.
In another segment, Kourtney included a snap of a table setting with three lit candles. And the festive decor wasn’t just inside her home. The mom of four also shared a picture of elaborate outdoor decorations featuring red balloons, a red Christmas tree, toys, and more.
She posted snaps of so many Christmas trees.
With a combination of video clips and photos, Kourtney shared rooms filled with Christmas trees in her Instagram update. It’s unclear whether she shared snaps from different years, or if they were all from 2024, as the trees in one room appeared green and red in different segments. (Although, it could have been a filter.) All of the featured trees were decorated with simple lights and no ornaments.
One critic in the comments declared: “Having 47 Christmas trees in your house is a weird flex. Very strange reality.”
Meanwhile, a different Instagram user echoed: “Who needs this many Xmas trees. Why not donate to family’s who can’t have Christmas?”
In one picture, Kourtney included an upside down Christmas tree.
Evidently, upside down Christmas trees are a trend. And it’s a trend that Kourtney followed. The act of displaying a tree upside down is a modern take on a centuries-old tradition to represent the Holy Trinity, according to The Spruce.
Folks were perplexed by the trend, as well as the crooked candle in a different image.
Judging by the comments, upside down Christmas trees aren’t an incredibly popular trend for anyone who isn’t a celebrity.
“The upside down tree is strange,” one person declared.
However, others were more distracted by the one candle leaning at an awkward angle.
“Your candle is crooked,” one Instagram user wrote, as another echoed, “Mama a candle crooked.”
“I just know the crooked candle is driving @khloekardashian crazy,” someone else pointed out.
In the comments, many Instagram followers also thought the holiday decor was excessive.
Plenty of Kourtney’s followers called her out for her perceived excess.
One Instagram user wrote: “I look at this.. I think if so many that are struggling. People out of work, sick or single Mama’s that are struggling to buy groceries or pay bills. Those that are hungry and homeless or alone. This kind of excessiveness really makes me sad and sick… I wonder do you REALLY enjoy it?”
Another commented: “You gotta be sh!tting me. People living in tents in downtown cities and you have 52 Christmas trees. We live in a totally f@ck3d up society.”
Meanwhile, another follower shared, “Let’s spend 200k on trees instead of buying Christmas presents for thousands and thousands of children who won’t receive a gift.”
