If you are a meat eater then you have to hear about the latest beef recall. More than 1.8 MILLION pounds of ground beef by Wolverine Packing Co. have been recalled over an E. Coli contamination. The Detroit based company distributes to restaurants in the Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri, and Ohio region.
After 10 people from the states fell ill, the company voluntarily put out a recall as a warning for the public. In case you have a package of meat made by Wolverine Packing Co., keep reading for further information.

The USDA Food Safety and inspection Service says the meat contains the deadly E.coli O157:H7 which can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps, can lead to kidney failure and can last up to a week.
If you think you have this meat in your fridge, the date codes you should look out for are the following: 03 31 14 and 04 18 14. The company confirmed that some of the tainted meat was sent to the National School Lunch Program and The Department of Defense. The meat was produced between March 31 and April 18 and if you bought any of it during this time you may be at risk. Follow this complete list of recalled meat to confirm if you have it at home.
This is way too scary! I never understand how big companies miss contaminations such as this one when they should be regulating their product daily. What makes it scarier is that its affected meat was sent to our children's schools! Hopefully no one got violently ill from the E. Coli, but it's a good thing that Wolverine Packing co. caught it before it got WORSE.
