Chipotle may soon get rid of its guacamole, NOOO!

I hate to be the damper on your day, but I have the WORST news for Chipotle lovers out there. The popular food chain may be getting RID of its guacamole and some of its salsas.

Say it ain't so! Not only that but its prices may ever soar in the near future. What is going on?! The answer is quite depressing and I'm praying that mother nature gets her act together. Otherwise we won't have our delicious guacamole for a long time. But what does she even have to do with Chipotle's food situation? A lot, believe it or not!

Recent climate change has affected the availability of ingredients needed to make some of Chipotle's popular menu items. In other words, their delicious guacamole and other salsas may soon be extinct!

If there ends up being a lack of produce, such as avocados, the prices may rise as well and that isn't ideal for the restaurant or customers. To avoid having to deal with the extra charges, Chipotle may temporarily get rid of its guacamole and salsas. It sounds blasphemous and Chipotle understands that  and knows that it may affect their clientele.

The company is known to use over 35.4 million pounds of avocados every year, which accounts for 97,000 pounds used daily. Although avocados have been untouched by this climate change, scientists fear that locations that grow the fruit may be facing drier weather which can ultimately affect the crops. If that wasn't bad enough, Chipotle buys its ingredients only from organic farms which are more susceptible to extreme weather.

It would be such terrible news if Chipotle has to change their menu because of avocado crops! Not only will customers not be able to buy guacamole, but I don't want to pay more than I already am for a burrito bowl. Lets hope Mother Nature spares us and we won't have to deal with ANY Chipotle shortages.
