I love spring. My garden starts blooming, the air feels clean and everything seems brighter. When spring rolls around, I say goodbye to winter and I'm always seized by the urge to clean out my house and freshen up a room. This year, I am looking to update the living room and my bedroom.
Last fall I planted a whole garden full of new irises in the front of my house. My living room is the first room you come into it after you see the flowers, so I like to bring a sense of the spring garden indoors, combining bold graphics and pops of color.
For the bold graphics, I love a great set of black and white curtains. There are so many to choose from at the IKEA store!
To offset the curtains, I want an eye-catching rug like IKEA's Ullgump.
It's pretty and it's also low-pile, which which make it easy to clean with my kids and dogs running over it every day.
For pops of color, I love to use pillow covers and a nice, fun new tabletop display. I am in love with the GULÖRT and the LAPPLJUNG FÅGEL. Instant spring! For the table, I chose the ÅRYD candleholders in 2 different heights, along with the fun KNAPRIG vase.
In my bedroom, spring inspires me to make everything airy and bright, to create a spring sanctuary. That means white! I love the ALVINE KVIST duvet with its white background and delicate floral motif. My bed never feels complete without a great throw at the foot of it. The IKEA Stockholm adds great texture.
A vase of fresh flowers and the windows thrown open, and I am ready to welcome spring into my home!
