This delicious cake (or bread) is what Latinos eat to celebrate the arrival of the Three Wise Men and the revelation of Jesus as God the Son. Whether you're religious or not, though, anyone would be proud to enjoy the ending of the feast with this great dessert.
Recipes vary from country to country, but typically the cake is decorated with figs, quinces, cherries, and fruit that is dried or candied. You can use dried or candied cherries, cranberries, pineapple, mango. Really, anything works.
The other tradition associated with Rosca de Reyes is to place a small trinkey (typically a little figurine of the Christ Child), and whoever finds it will be blessed and must take it to a church on February 2nd, Candlemas Day. Now, get to baking and celebrate!
