After sharing some of my favorite creative food tips and tricks last week, I became a little bit obsessed. Since I spend most of my non-working hours in my kitchen, it only makes sense, right?
Well, as much as I love spending some quality time with my stove and refrigerator, I don't necessarily love the idea of slaving away over one dish. Preserve Herbs in Olive Oil

A big huge THANK YOU to TheKitchn.com for helping me figure out just what to do with leftover herbs: freeze and preserve them in olive oil! In the past, I would probably just let them go bad and regret it… but now I know how easy it is to pop out an herby ice cube and throw it into a dish for added flavor. Banana Hot Dog

Thanks to Tammy J/Pinterest, I now know of a great healthy snack to serve: a banana hot dog! Find the full recipe on ParentsConnect.com but, basically, all you need is a whole wheat bun, a banana, some peanut butter and a bit of jelly. It's fun, delicious and good for the kids, too!
Fruit in Ice Cream Cones

How do you serve up a healthy fruit snack in a fun way? Why, put it in ice cream cones, of course! The genius idea came from Kira Baughman Jabri/Pinterest but you can find the full fruit salad recipe from Baker's Royale. The kids will LOVE this one!
Corn Off the Cob

As much as I love to cook, one of my biggest shames is that I am just NOT good at getting corn off the cob. But want to know how to do it in the easiest way possible? With great instructions from The Diaper Diaries, via Ruth Butler/Pinterest, all you have to do is get a bundt pan and an electric knife! Genius.
Freeze Leftover Wine

Once in a while, a recipe will call for cooking with wine and I get a little annoyed because I just don't feel like buying a bottle only to use half a cup. Well, that problem is easily solved with this genius tip for freezing leftover wine from The Art of Doing Stuff that I originally found thanks to Dianne Snow/Pinterest.

Don't tell me this has never happened to you: you squeeze a lemon over a dish and end up with seeds everywhere. Yuck! Well, this genius tip from Real Simple lets you know to use a grater as a citrus strainer to keep seeds out of the juice. Tammy J/Pinterest was smart to point it out!
Puree Garlic with a Fork

Ever find recipes that ask for pureed garlic? What do you do? A tip from Real Simple that I found thanks to Tammy J/Pinterest instructs you to use a fork and "hold the tines flat against a work surface, and vigorously rub a peeled clove across them" to create a great paste that's perfect for marinades, sauces and vinaigrettes.
Freezing Sauce
