SAG Awards 2023: Best & worst dressed celebs on the red carpet

The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards went down on Sunday, February 26, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California. The SAG Awards ceremony is "the only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors" and the winners are selected by SAG-AFTRA union members. This year's "televised" ceremony was aired on Netflix's YouTube channel as opposed to cable television like in the past. OK, enough about that! Who were the best and worst dressed celebrities?

Before we get into it, I feel I have to put it in perspective because what the celebrities wore isn't really all that important, but those of us who love fashion like to look, and well, we all have opinions. These are my opinions on which celebrities were the best dressed and which were the worst dressed. You may not agree with me and that's great because how boring would fashion be if we all had the same taste? Check out my 10 best dressed picks followed by my 10 worst dressed picks!

Ariana DeBose looked perfect in pink.

Specifically, she looked perfect in hot pink. She wore a hot pink suit with a thigh-length jacket featuring a plunging neckline and pants that skimmed the floor. The monochromatic look was chic and joyful. The Oscar winner wore it well.

Jenna Ortega wore Atelier Versace.

The Wednesday star wore an asymmetrical strapless dress with a edgy high slit. She was giving off a glamorous goth vibe. She wore her hair down in an unfussy style, which made her look effortlessly chic.

Ana de Armas wore Louis Vuitton.

The Blonde star dazzled in an exquisite custom Louis Vuitton gown. Even with a plunging neckline, the gown managed to have a demure look about it maybe because of the large velvet bows on the straps.

Janelle James wore Rodarte.

Is it me or did the Abbott Elementary star take a page out of Wednesday Addams' stylebook? This dress is so something I could picture Wednesday or Jenna Ortega wearing, but Janelle is wearing the heck out of it and somehow it doesn't look all that goth on her. Love it!

Zendaya wore Valentino.

The woman, the dress, the woman in the dress! Just WOW! Zendaya's strapless pale pink gown embellished with rosettes is a dream. It's timeless! She accessorized with Bvlgari jewelry and wore her hair in a style reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Age.

Viola Davis wore Valentino.

Viola Davis was impossible to miss in a vibrant yellow Valentino gown with a fun wavy neckline. The dress itself was pretty simple, but in that yellow it was amazing. She accessorized with Swarovski jewelry.

Niecy Nash-Betts wore Vera Wang Haute.

She looked radiant in the bright yellow strapless gown. The color was bold, bright, and glorious. She kept the rest of her look pretty simple because the dress was a show stopper or I should say that the Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story actor in that dress was a show stopper.

Aubrey Plaza wore Michael Kors Collection.

The White Lotus actor shimmered in a copper Michael Kors Collection gown. The dress is a statement in and of itself, so she kept accessories to a minimum. I love how the copper of the dress plays of off of the copper tones in her hair. And that crisscross top: va-va-va-voom!

Quinta Brunson wore Jean-Louis Sebaji.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Abbott Elementary creator's gown. I love it on her. She looks stunning and it fits her like a dream. Where does the hate part come in? Well, it's the shell design on the bodice, I want to hate it, but I can't because Quinta looks so good in it.

Michelle Yeoh wore Schiaparelli Haute Couture.

Love her, don't love the dress. I watched the awards show with my husband and when he saw her, her said: "Why is there shredded paper all over the front of her dress? Rip it off." Then when she won the award for outstanding performance by a female Actor in a Leading Role, that stuff on her dress kept rubbing the mic.

Megan Stalter did her own thing.

The Hacks cast member wore a bodice with some kind of a shirt underneath, a printed skirt with random ruching, black tights, and black shoes. I don't love it and I'm not sure many others did either, but good on her for wearing what makes her feel good.

Julia Garner wore Gucci.

The Ozark star wore an orangey rust number that was cut to look like she had seashells over her shirt. The upper part of the dress looked like metal mesh. Maye I just don't get what the designer was going for because it ends up looking like something that got dragged up from the ocean for me.

Kerry Condon wore Louis Vuitton.

The Banshees of Inisherin star wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown that fit her perfectly. The problem for me is that she looks like she's wearing two different dresses or like she's wearing armor and a slip.

James Marsden wore a pale blue tux.

In all honesty, there is nothing wrong with what James Marsden is wearing. He looks fine, the tux fits him well, and I even like the cut. So, why am I putting him on my worst dressed list? Because I'm over baby blue tuxes on red carpets. Change the color and I would love it.

Amanda Seyfried wore Prada.

Amanda is featured on many best dressed lists for wearing this bright green mini dress by Prada and she does indeed look fantastic in the color. Plus, the dress has pockets. The only reason I can't put her on my best dressed list is because I don't like the way the dress fits her across the chest. It just feels like it could have been tailored to fit her better.

Kai Smith wore a costume?

Uh, do I really need to say anything about this outfit? Is it an outfit? Or is it a costume? It's something, but I don't know what and I'm not even sure how to feel about it. But now I really want a juicy burger.

Jessica Frances Dukes wore Marc Bouwer.

It's the neck of the gown that ruins it for me. I can't even pay attention to the rest of the dress because I'm too worried that the dress is trying to choke the Ozark actor. It looks so uncomfortable.

Beatrice Grannò wore Valentino.

Gilbert Flores/Getty Images

I get that the gown is meant to be oversized and drape, I really do. I just don't love how oversized it is and how much it drapes and seems to sag on the White Lotus star's frame. It's just a whole lot of fabric for an underwhelming effect.

Rooney Mara wore Alexander McQueen.

The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals
Gilbert Flores/Getty Images

Overall, Rooney Mara looks fine in her Alexander McQueen gown, but when you look at it closer, it's a lot. There is sheer lace and a bird pattern that looks kind of skeletal. It just feels like too much and not enough at the same time.

Li Jun Li wore Fendi.

The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals
Gilbert Flores/Getty Images

The Babylon star wore a sheer silver gown with gold detailing from the Fendi fall/winter 2022 collection. She didn't look bad in it or anything, but I'm over the whole sheer dress that shows your chonies look in the same way that I'm over the baby blue tux look.
