It’s Paris Fashion Week and L’Oréal Paris went all out. The official Paris Fashion Week partner hosted a runway show at the Opéra de Paris. The show was a celebration of “women and the unlimited potential of self-worth in an epic hymn to femininity and feminism, democratizing beauty.” I know, it’s a mouthful, but basically the show celebrated all kinds of beauty by featuring an array of strong, beautiful women, strutting with self-confidence. And I am so happy to report that Latinas were well-represented.
More from MamásLatinas: Powerful Quotes by inspiring Latinas
The message of the show, “Walk Your Worth,” is meant to inspire all women, including the brand’s ambassadors, to present themselves to the world and walk confidently toward their destiny. L’Oréal ambassadors I expected and was excited to see on the runway include Kylie Jenner, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, and Andie MacDowell. But can we talk about how exciting it is to see so many Latinas hitting the brand’s runway? I’m talking Camila Cabello, Belinda, Anitta, and more.
Take a look at the powerful looks and powerful women that graced the L’Oréal Paris show with their grace, confidence, and phenomenal style.
Of course, Eva Longoria was there.
Eva became a L’Oréal Paris ambassador in 2005 and is one of the “longest-serving members of the brand’s ‘Dream Team.’” She was a vision in white at the runway show. The dress featured a plunging neckline and a high thigh slit. The best part of her ensemble was her smile.
Camila Cabello took to the stage in a classic look.
The Cuban singer has been an ambassador for the brand since 2017. She wore a little strapless black dress with sheer black tights. Her whole look was simple and classic. Her hair looked luminous under the lights—like a satin curtain framing her face.
Renata Notni looked bold in red.
The Mexican actress and model wore a shimmering red mini dress with strong shoulders and draping fabric. She oozed confidence and glamour as she made her way down the runway. When she turned to walk back, you could see that the back of her dress had a cutout that perfectly highlighted her sleek ponytail.
Luma Grothe wore the heck out of a floor-length coat.
The Brazilian model showed that style does not have to be complicated to be exciting. She wore a red coat that grazed the floor with a bandeau top and trousers underneath. This is a look that would be so easy to recreate on just about any budget.
Anitta was giving superhero.
Tell me that Elektra wouldn't want to swap her superhero look for what Anitta wore. Oh, and it wasn't just the outfit the Brazilian singer wore that made her look like a superhero. It was how she behaved as well. Wait for it!
Anitta offered an assist when Belinda took a tumble.
Belinda was walking down the runway and took a tumble. When Anitta saw that Belinda could use a helping hand, she walked right over and offered hers. Notice I did not say she came to the rescue. Empowered women don't need rescuing, sometimes they just need support.
Belinda did not let her fall keep her from marching on.
The singer took it in stride. She got back up and continued on her journey. She even used it as a teachable moment. "It doesn't matter how many times you fall, the important thing is how you get up, thanks @anitta ," she wrote on Instagram.
She even blew the audience a kiss.
When she made it to the end of the runway, the singer blew the audience a kiss. "The most iconic moment of my life, although I never imagined it would be like this ," she later wrote on Instagram. You gotta love her attitude.
I love this moment because it's such a great example to all that there will always be stumbles along the way. They happen to everyone, even when they are wearing a fabulous outfit. It's OK. Get up without shame and keep on going.
Daniella Álvarez was dazzling in white.
The Colombian model wore a fun white bubble-skirt dress. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail. Seeing all these red, white, and black combinations has me thinking that it wouldn't be hard to create a capsule wardrobe using just those three colors.
Glamzilla glided down the runway like a ray of sunshine.
Stephanie Valentine, the beauty content creator known as Glamzilla, wore a bright yellow coat over a belted dress with a voluminous skirt. She was pure radiant joyfulness.
Who else graced the runway?
Shout out to silver sisters Jane Fonda and Andie MacDowell who are living proof that beauty, style, and elegance have nothing to do with age. Inclusivity and diversity of age is always important.
Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner almost looked like sisters.
The English model and the American model are metaphorical sisters because they are both part of the L’Oréal Paris family, but they could have passed for literal sisters on the runway because Kendall swapped out her usual dark locks for a blonde mane.
So many inspiring women walked their worth.
There were 32 ambassadors for the brand there, so I'm not going to name everyone that participated because I know you won't read all the names anyway. But, they were all captured on camera.
You can watch the whole show!
The show was livestreamed on the L'Oréal website and is available for replay. Kudos to the brand for working on being inclusive. I would love to see more size diversity in the future as well. I mean, there's always room to grow, right?
