The most stylish looks of Kim Kardashian in 2021

In January 2021, news broke that Kim Kardashian and Ye, formerly Kanye West, were no longer going to be Mr. and Mrs. Kim officially filed for divorce from the rapper on February 19. A lot of Kim’s fans were wondering how splitting from Ye would affect Kim’s sense of style because Kim admitted to relying heavily on the Yeezy designer’s opinion when choosing what to wear. “I always ask his opinion on everything and he always helps me put together my looks," she once said. If Kim was so reliant on Ye’s OK when it came to picking her outfits during their marriage, would Kim be lost fashion-wise without him?

Of course not. Kim is a grown woman and she’s perfectly capable of dressing just fine without Ye’s help, as you’ll see shortly. Does Ye still approve of all of Kim’s outfits? Who cares. It’s not for him to decide what Kim wears or how she presents herself to the world. Take a look at some of Kim Kardashian’s most stylish looks of 2021.

In January, Kim did a whole brown is the new black kind of look.

This brown on brown look that Kim sported in January just goes to show that mixing different shades of brown can look great. Not only did Kim mix shades of brown, she also mixed textures—and it all works. This look is more accessible than most because it's one that regular folks like us could recreate.

February saw Kim rocking cargo pants and crop top.

This is another one of Kim's more replicable looks of the year. She wore cargo pants that could look uber-casual if it weren't for the stiletto booties and crop top she also wore.

In March she opted for an all green ensemble.

This green is interesting as it is somewhere between yellow and green. It's not a color that most people would opt for, but Kim looks good in it. She wore strappy heels in a different shade of green to finish the look. The greens end up kind of clashing, but kind of not.

She looked wonderful in an olive green look from Givenchy.

Kim did not go to Fashion Week in 2021, but that did not stop her from channeling a bit of Fashion Week from home. She wore a beautiful olive green Givenchy gown and accessorized with a matching purse, lots of rings, and a bold choker.

In April, she stunned in Vivienne Westwood.

In April, while promoting a new collection for her KKW Fragrance line, she thanked Vivienne Westwood. "Thank you @viviennewestwood for the most beautiful dresses for the shoot!" Kim wrote.

How did she get this dress to stay on?!

We don't understand how Kim was able to keep this particular dress on her body. It seems to defy the laws of physics. "It’s not for you to understand," she captioned a series of photos in this dress. OK, good, because we don't understand.

Oh, you know, just Kim looking lovely in latex.

Kim shared a picture of herself trying on different shoe options with a brown latex-looking dress that is not for the faint of heart. Kim somehow manages to wear materials that seem uncomfortable, but that look like they are a second skin.

Here she is looking ravishing in another Vivienne Westwood number.

The color of this Vivienne Westwood gown is magical. It's like a burnt orange with a touch of cinnamon. The way the gown drapes over Kim's body is perfection. We should all have clothes that fit us that well.

She wore an off-the-shoulder white lace gown in Vatican City.

Did you know that Vatican City, which is in the heart of Rome, is actually the smallest country in the world? It's true. It's also true that Kim wore a white lace gown when she visited Vatican City. Oh, and for those of her worried that she didn't dress appropriately, here's what she wrote on Instagram:

We had the most incredible experience touring Vatican City @vaticanmuseums. It was amazing to be able to view all of the iconic art, architecture and ancient Roman sculptures in person, especially Michelangelo’s works. We even had an opportunity to view their private archive of robes worn by every pope in history, dating back to the 1500’s. Thank you @ocspecial for arranging the visit. (Don’t worry, I adhered to the dress code and fully covered up while inside St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel’s).

She went to the Trevi Fountain in tortoiseshell.

"Tortoise Shell at the Trevi," she captioned a series of photos of herself in Rome by the Trevi Fountain wearing a strapless mini tortoiseshell dress with a matching tiny clutch and manicure. Her hair was styled in an updo and she looked like she could be the star in a Fellini movie.

She went to a gas station in July wearing a Yeezy bright orange furry jacket.

Kim and Ye may no longer be romantically involved, but that hasn't stopped Kim from wearing her estranged husband's designs, like she did in July while going to a gas station. She wore a furry orange jacket from his 2016 Yeezy collection.

In September she wore an all-black form-fitting outfit.

Kim wore an all-black look that had her looking like Cat Woman without the ears and we mean that as a compliment. The top showed off her shoulders, which emphasized that the rest of her body was sheathed in fabric.

In October, Kim hosted 'Saturday Night Live.'

Hosting SNL is a big deal and naturally, Kim showed up to the gig with a few outfit changes. One of the looks was a head-to-toe hot pink with a crushed velvet blazer by Balenciaga.

She wore a whole lot of Balenciaga on 'SNL.'

It's almost like Kim picked a uniform for her SNL hosting gig and that uniform consisted of skin-tight Balenciaga jumpsuits in different colors or fabric patterns. Some folks were disappointed that she didn't opt for more variety. Whatever. It was her gig, so her choice.

She wore black to Paris Hilton's wedding.

Before Kim Kardashian hit it big, she was good friends with Paris Hilton. She even worked as Paris' assistant in the early aughts. To this day, they remain friends. When Paris got married on November 11, 2021, Kim was there looking hecka good in a black Balenciaga gown.
