Grammy Awards 2022: The best and worst dressed on the red carpet

The 2022 Grammy Awards were a grand affair. Music's hottest celebrities came out in full force, and the night had some big moments both on stage and on the red carpet. From glamorous gowns like those worn by Colombian singer and actress Sofia Carson and megastar Lady Gaga, to edgier looks from the likes of pop stars Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, all the celebs made their marks on the red carpet.

More from MamásLatinas: The best and worst looks from the Oscars 2022 Red Carpet

For the most part, the stars showed up in incredibly beautiful, elegant and creative looks to celebrate music's biggest honors. There were some odd misses on the red carpet as well, though. Here we're taking a look at the best and worst dressed celebrities on the 2022 Grammys red carpet.

Best: Rachel Zegler looked so chic.

West Side Story star Rachel Zegler looked incredibly chic in a custom Christian Dior gown. The airy gray fabric, was a unique choice and we love all of the little details on the dress. Plus, her bob haircut is just the best.

Best: Lady Gaga's gown was incredibly classy.

Lady Gaga has been a consistently elegant presence on the awards show circuit this season, and the Grammys were no exception. She wore a black and white, one-shouldered gown by Armani Privé, paired with a stunning diamond necklace and earrings.

Best: Sofia Carson looked fantastic in green.

Sofia Carson stole the show on the red carpet in this fluid emerald green Valentino gown. She looked fantastic in the high-neck gown with sheer cape, and her high, wavy ponytail was absolute perfection.

Best: Snoh Aalegra's shimmery Versace gown was stunning.

Swedish singer Snoh Aalegra wore the most stunning silver Atelier Versace gown to the Grammys. It had a slight mermaid hem, a sweetheart neckline, and featured draped slits from the hip down on both sides.

Best: Olivia Rodrigo classed it up.

Olivia Rodrigo took home three Grammys in 2022, and she looked super cute doing it. She wore a vintage-inspired Vivienne Westwood gown, which made her look like an edgy Disney character to accept the awards for best new artist, best pop solo performance, and best pop album.

Best: Carrie Underwood was perfection in yellow and gold.

Country singer Carrie Underwood looked like a real-life princess in this Dolce & Gabbana ballgown. The deep yellow and gold palette is lovely on Carrie, who won the Grammy for best roots gospel album.

Best: Lenny Kravitz couldn't be more of a rock star.

Lenny Kravitz showed up at the Grammys in the most glamorous true-to-himself rock star outfit we could have imagined. He donned tight leather pants, a distressed chainmail tank, knee-high black boots, and layered jewelry.

Best: Dua Lipa looked edgy in a vintage gown.

Singer Dua Lipa looked incredible in this vintage Versace gown from 1992. It's so edgy and she amped up the wow factor with tons of chunky jewelry. We loved her sleek platinum tresses and deep red lip as well.

Best: Saweetie took her sexy style high fashion.

Rapper Saweetie stayed super true to herself in a sexy hot pink two-piece by Valentino. She looked gorgeous in the sleek ensemble and her sparkly bow-design choker necklace was the perfect accessory.

Best: SZA looked like a spring goddess.

Singer SZA was absolutely stunning in this vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown, which featured a gorgeous burst of flowers down the entire center, and was made of flowy, nude-colored tulle fabric. It fit her like a glove. She and Doja Cat took home the award for best pop duo group performance.

Worst: We're over this look from J Balvin.

J Balvin keeps wearing odd suits with extra-long jackets, and we think it's time for him to move on. It's not flattering at all, especially in this satin fabric. It actually looks a little messy.

Worst: Billie Eilish went with another voluminous black gown.

We know that oversized clothes are Billie Eilish's thing, that's fine, but she just keeps missing the mark a bit with her more formal red carpet looks. This look almost worked, but there was just a bit too much going on.

Worst: Justin Bieber looked like he was wearing someone else's clothes.

Singer Justin Bieber showed up to the Grammys in a confusing look. He wore an oversized Balenciaga suit that made him look like he was wearing his grandpa's clothes. The sleeves literally covered his hands entirely. And he looked like he thought he looked so cool, too.

Worst: H.E.R.'s jumpsuit was a miss.

We usually love H.E.R.'s rock star style, but this sheer yellow jumpsuit was a miss for us. It honestly looked kind of cheap — like something your mom or grandma would pick out at a bargain dress store.

Worst: Chrissy Teigen's bubblegum pink dress was too much.

Chrissy Teigen's styling for the Grammys was wonderful, but we did not love her Grammys dress. She wore a hot pink ruffled Nicole + Felicia Couture gown, and it just feels like too much. Had the bodice been smooth instead of one giant ruffle, it might have worked.

Worst: Tayla Parx's look was a shock.

Someone should have reminded singer Tayla Parx that she's not a toddler and that it's not Halloween. This dinosaur-inspired outfit was a shock. Like, it was a literal costume, and not fashion at all. So strange.

Worst: Michelle Zauner was giving us scrambled eggs.

Reaction to Michelle Zauner, from the band Japanese Breakfast, at the Grammys, has been mixed, but we're not fans of the look. The Valentino mini-dress reminds us of fancy scrambled eggs.

Worst: Rapper Jidenna's outfit was confounding.

Rapper Jidenna wore upholstery to the Grammys. Why? We just don't understand how he thinks this actually looks good. The shape of the oversized tunic is bad and the all-over print is too much. The boots are OK though.

Worst: Maren Morris was too casual.

Country singer Maren Morris did not impress with her dress choice at the 2022 Grammys. She wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana dress and matching heels, but it looked more like an outfit for the office than red carpet attire.

Worst: Victoria Evigan made a statement.

One part of the musical duo Elephant Heart, Victoria Evigan used her Grammys appearance to make a statement, in a huge, brightly colored dress that said "love is the weapon" across the back. Again the ruffles, the tulle, the mesh…all of it was a lot.
