The 2023 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, November 19, were kind of different. Last year, the ceremony was televised on NBC, but this year it was streamed from various locations. Not gonna lie, I'm bummed because since there wasn't one main physical location for celebs to show up, that meant way fewer red carpet looks than usual. I don't know about you, but for me part of the fun of watching awards shows is to see the red carpet looks and decide which ones were winners and which ones weren't.

Still, even if there were fewer red carpet looks for the BBMAs this year, there were still some notable looks to see. Check out my best and worst dressed pics here and please feel free to disagree with me because as we all know, taste in fashion is subjective.
Best: Selena Gomez in Oscar de la Renta.
Selena leaned into granny chic and nailed it! Her Oscar de la Renta dress was covered in the cutest crocheted flowers. It looked like something a skilled abuela could whip up—and I mean that in a good way.
Best: Mariah Carey channeled winter wonderland vibes.
The Queen of Christmas wore a retro-inspired white zippered dress that was giving snow bunny winter wonderland vibes. Her hair was in a half up, half down style that went with the whole mod look of her ensemble.
Best: Mariah Carey's kids.
Mariah Carey's kids, Moroccan and Monroe, looked adorable in their coordinating winter-friendly outfits. They should totally use these images for their holiday cards this year. Mariah shares the twins with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
Best: Bebe Rexha in a black and silver gown.
OK, so a lot of publications put Bebe Rexha on their worst dressed list, but I think she looks great. Her dress makes me think mermaid and superhero at the same time. Like if a mermaid was a superhero, she would totally dress like this.
Best: Karol G from the front in Joanna Prazmo design.
From the front, the fabric of the dress looked like it was wet. The dress hugged the Colombian singer's every curve and was clearly tailored to fit her perfectly. The nude tones of the dress complemented the Colombian singer.
Worst: Karol G from the back.
So, from the front, the dress looks wet and flows across Karol's body, but from the back the dress looks like yellowed packaging tape that was slapped on all haphazardly at the last minute.
Worst: Peso Pluma in Balenciaga.
It's not that the Mexican entertainer looks bad, it's just that he looks blah. Sure, what he's got on is expensive, but it just isn't anything special. He could wear that to play video games in someone's basement and not be overdressed.
Worst: Tate McRae kept it casual.
The Canadian singer-songwriter looked fine in her laid-back ensemble. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's also nothing spectacular about it. Wear this to the mall, but give me more for special events.
