The process of getting ready for a major event can be super stressful for any woman. There's so much that goes into us looking our best including hair, makeup, skin, our outfits, and nails. So imagine just how much pressure celebrities feel before they step out onto the biggest fashion red carpet of the year at the Met Gala. It must be insane!

It takes an entire village to make gorgeous stars like Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and Kim Kardashian pull off their glamorous looks and seeing the behind-the-scenes preparations for their Met Gala 2019 looks is absolutely mesmerizing. The stars had cameras with them to capture their fittings and glam processes and it's crazy to see just how much work and attention to detail it requires for them to look as amazing as they all did at one of the biggest events of the year. And things got a little emotional for them, too.
Kim Kardashian has a huge team to help her get ready.
Kim invited the Vogue cameras as she got fitted for her gorgeous dress designed by Thierry Mugler. The dress created an illusion that Kim was coming out of water, so it had crystals hanging off the silicone material and even her nails. Her beauty look also had a wet illusion with dewy makeup and moist-looking hair. She also shared what it was like getting into a super tight corset that allowed her tiny waist and hips to look completely out of this world.
Kim showed off her insane corset and it literally made our ribs hurt.
There's a reason why Kim's waist looked nearly nonexistent in that wet silicone dress. Underneath it, she was wearing a corset by Mr Pearl, who is known as one of the best corset-makers in history. She warned Vogue's editor Anna Wintour that she might not be able to sit down for dinner at the gala.
All of Kim's efforts were totally worth it.
Kim looked drop-dead gorgeous at the event! She arrived with her husband, Kanye West, but all eyes were on her. Also, that corset made her curves look even more insane than ever before. Did she even eat? How did she sit? So many questions.
Jennifer Lopez's getting ready video was so emotional.
J.Lo posted her getting ready video to her own YouTube account and dedicated it to her longtime friend and Versace tailor, Luigi Massi, who died in April. Jen remembered Luigi during her fitting and began tearing up. She also couldn't hold back her tears after she took a look at herself in the mirror after she was ready.
Even though it was an emotional time, Jen looked amazing in the design.
In a previous video on her page, Jen revealed that Luigi had passed away halfway through making her dress, so this was a meaningful moment for her to remember her beloved friend. And she nailed it!
Cardi B's behind-the-scenes video showed just how nervous she was for her second Met Gala.
Cardi left everyone in awe when she appeared on the carpet wearing a Thom Browne design that took 35 people and more than 2,000 hours to make. The red gown had an attached train that also required multiple people to carry it down the carpet. It was stunning. When they asked her in the clip how she was feeling, she simply said: "Nervous."
Cardi left the nerves behind once she hit the carpet.
She looked like a total dream and definitely nailed the gala's Camp theme with this over-the-top look. Cardi's look was absolutely jaw-dropping and named one of the best outfits of the night.
