How to get Sofia Carson’s sleek & elegant bun from the 2017 Latin Grammys

Can we please take a second to talk about how amazing singer and actress Sofia Carson looked last night at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards? The Descendants 2 star hit up the red carpet in a majestic black gown that featured feathers all around the top and a see-through lace hem from the thighs down. Not everyone can pull off a look like this but Sofia totally slayed. Though we have to admit, that elegant bun hairstyle is what we're truly obsessed with!

It's not easy to find a hairstyle that can compete with a dress as head-turning as the one Sofia rocked, which is why celebrity hairstylist Caile Noble for Dove Hair went with a chic ballerina bun.

"The top of Sofia's dress has feathers so we immediately agreed up for the hair! I wanted the style to have a sense of elegance so I create a look that portrayed that contradiction," Caile said.

The process was pretty simple too. Here's how he created the sleek and modern style:

Step 1: Caile started off by massaging Dove Style + Care Curls Defining Mousse ($5) into Sofia's hair, starting from the roots and working his way to the mid-shaft section. This helped to create and define the actress' side part.

Step 2: Caile then dried the hair and passed a flat iron from roots to mid-shaft to create that sleek look. He kept it on low heat to prevent damage.

Step 3: He then brushed Sofia's hair into a low ponytail and sprayed a flexible hold hairspray to keep the look in place. Try Drybar Money Maker Flexible Hold Hairspray ($26).

Step 4: To give the ponytail texture and bounce, Caile applied the Dove Refresh + Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo ($6).

Step 5: "I continued by braiding a few pieces of the ponytail and twisting the remaining hair into place, while pinning it to create a messy low bun," he said.

Step 6: He finished off the look with a few additional sprays from a flexible hold hairspray to keep the look in place.

Best part? This look literally works for any occassion!
