A year ago, you wouldn't have caught me dead wearing liquid lipstick. I didn't want to have anything to do with them. I was all about my traditional bullets and my obsession with pencil and crayon lip stains like the Bobbi Brown Art Stick or Tarte's Lippie Lingerie Matte Tints only grew. Liquid lipsticks despite the long-lasting power, almost always left my lips dry, chapped, and sometimes even peeled. It wasn't cute. It wasn't for me. But that all changed this year.

This liquid lipstick is as matte as they come and still doesn’t dry your lips out.
I don’t know how they managed to create a liquid formula this matte, this long-lasting that doesn’t dry out lips. But they did and it’s mind-blowing to me. Did I mention it comes 20 shades? The burgundy-looking "Starwoman" shade is perfect for fall. NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26).
