Celebs are always experimenting with new looks, and that includes changing up the color of their hair and we're not talking about just going from dark blond to a lighter blond or adding highlights to their dark tresses. We're talking about celebrities rocking hair colors that nature never intended for hair to be. Hair colors that not so long ago used to be considered crazy or wild. The thing is that nowadays, what used to be considered "crazy" hair colors like pink, blue, purple, or even all of them and more on one head of hair are really not all that crazy anymore. And thanks to celebrities normalizing fun hair colors, you no longer have to be a punk rocker or a rebellious teen to sport the look yourself.
More from MamásLatinas: Cardi B's most blinged-out, crazy nails ever
Wild, vibrant, straight-out-of-the-crayon-box hair colors are on trend right now, and we're not mad about it. We're actually totaly here for it, so let's take a look at our favorite crazy hair color looks over the years on celebrities like Jacqie Rivera, Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, and Kylie Jenner. And take it from me, you don't have to be a celebrity to pull off "crazy" hair colors. I've been sporting hot pink hair for years now, and no one ever stops me on the street to ask for an autograph. So if you are inspired, go ahead and try one of these fun colors on your own hair. After all, why should celebrities, punk rockers, and rebellious teens have all the fun?
Jacqie Rivera went pinkalicious!
Jacqie took us along as she transformed her hair from having some green in it to adding shades of pink under her dark tresses. The finished product is some kind of pinktastic wonderfulness. She looks great and so does her hair.
Emme Maribel Muñiz went green, but not with envy.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's daughter was seen hanging out with her mom's rumored current love interest, Ben Affleck, while rocking bluish green hair. What's great nowadays is that they make semi-permanent or even wash-out color that you can put on dark, unbleached hair to get a fun color without damaging your hair.
Cardi B likes to get colorful, too.
Cardi is really into fashion and has been known to match her hair (or wig) color to her attire. Case in point, she did a photo shoot for a collaboration with Reebok and her hair perfectly complemented what she was wearing.
Sometimes Cardi does a more subtle matching look with her hair.
For another photo shoot for her Reebok collaboration, Cardi opted for a red and black hair look to match her red and black lewk. This look is subtle enough that even someone who isn't a celebrity could rock it on the daily.
Check out Jennifer Lopez channeling her inner unicorn Barbie!
At the end of 2020, Jen's hairstylist Chris Appleton posted images of the singer wearing a purple and blue wig that was dynamite. He captioned the images: "Unicorn Barbie ."
Then there was that time J.Lo's hair looked like a work of art.
This time around, Chris Appleton shared a picture of J.Lo wearing a platinum blond wig stenciled with a red and black floral design on it. Talk about crazy hair! That's crazy fun and wonderful. Did you even know hair stenciling was a thing? Amazing.
Kim Kardashian went pink in 2018.
Kim opted for a cotton candy pink shade and it looked great. She didn't keep it for long, but she had fun with it while she had it and a lot of people were inspired to try the color on themselves.
In 2019, Kim showed us how we could try out fun hair colors before actually getting them.
Kim posted a series of three versions of the same photo of herself each with a different hair color. Her hair was rose gold in one, light green in another, and purple in the last. She shared in the caption that she used an app to create the hair color effects. This would be a good way to see how you would look in a certain hair color before actually trying it out in real life.
Bella Thorne did a midnight blue hair thing.
The part-Cuban actress normally wears her natural red hair, but isn't afraid to mix things up a bit. She looked incredible with black and blue hair. Seriously a very gorgeous look on her.
Bella has also done the green thing.
In May 2020, Bella shared a series of selfies where she was just hanging out on her lawn in a bathing suit. In the pics, her hair is darker than her natural color and there's a streaks of green in it, too.
Kylie Jenner has rocked almost every wild hair color out there.
In 2013, Kylie was snapped with super bright blue hair. Also, keep in mind that Kylie is a fan of wigs, so just because she's seen with a different hair color, it doesn't mean that she actually dyed her hair that color. Wigs are a great way to experiment with your hair color.
Kylie went green in 2015.
What do you think? Is this a wig or did she really go green? It doesn't really matter because either way it looks great. If it's a wig, the attention to detail is superb. If it's not a wig, kudos to her colorist.
Rihanna is also pretty adventurous when it comes to her hair color.
Bright red looks amazing on the pop diva. But what doesn't look amazing on her? She looks great in everything because she has a certain confidence and nonchalance about her. We could all use some of that.
Nicole Richie is a wild child at heart and her hair reflects that.
The mom of two modeled a neon pink hair color in 2015. It's edgy and beautiful! The shortness of her hair and how it framed her face was perfection. Nicole also has a bit of that nonchalance and confidence that Rihanna has—like they don't need anyone else's approval to have fun with their appearance.
Katy Perry stunned in purple hair at the 2015 Grammys.
Katy Perry never shies away from colorful hair. She can wear her hair in any color of the rainbow—or all of them—and look fantastic. She always looks like she's having fun and being playful with her hair, and it works.
Demi Lovato killed it with this bright pink rocker look in 2013.
In 2021, Demi Lovato came out as nonbinary and is now using they/them pronouns. Back in 2015, they rocked bright pink hair that was electric and so much fun. This isn't the only fun color they've sported throughout the years, but it's one of our favorites.
Here's Demi again a year later with bright aqua hair.
Do you see how good they look in green hair? Seriously, who would have thought that green hair could be so flattering? Maybe it's the particular shade of green that gives off merperson vibes.
Hilary Duff dyed her hair a light green with hints of blue a while back.
We're used to seeing her in shades of blond, but she changed up her signature look for a bit and let us all marvel at her tresses in hues of green and blue that created an aquamarine vibe.
Christina Aguilera played around with the wild color hair trend in 2012.
She dyed her ends purple and pink and kept the top platinum blond. A lot of people experiment with bold colors on just the ends of their hair. It's a great way to sort of dip your tips into the crazy hair color trend.
And can we really talk about celebs with crazy hair colors without bringing up Gwen Stefani?
Back in 1998, Gwen Stefani walked the MTV Awards red carpet with the brightest, bluest hair. She's never stopped having fun with her hair. Sure, for the most part she wears her hair platinum blond, but she'll surprise us with a fun color every now and again.
