Alves suffered some hair damage, but there's nothing a little TLC can't fix!

When Alves’ hair is air-dried it looks a lot like my hair these days. It's a mix of loose curls, waves and straight pieces. Here's the remedy…
Hydrate with a good leave-in conditioner.

Start off by applying a light-weight leave-in conditioner that’s going to deeply moisturize and repair damaged curls without weighing hair down, like Cantu Argan Oil Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream ($6). Apply a quarter-sized amount from roots to ends.
Boost curls with a quality mousse.

To give your rizos more bounce, apply a weightless, curl-enhancing product, like SheaMoisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Styling Mousee ($11). This makes curls look more defined and minimizes frizz.
Towel dry curls first.

To speed up the drying process, I recommend gently scrunching curls using a microfiber towel, like DevaCurl DevaTowel ($20). It dries without the static or frizz.
Make sure to use a diffuser.

Use a diffuser attachment to help dry, define, and volumize curls. I love the Conair Euro Style Diffuser ($9).
Touch up curls with a curling iron.

To make your curls look bouncier and more defined, try wrapping 1 inch sections of hair around a ¾-inch curling iron. I like Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron ¾ In ($40).
Finish off with a light-weight spray.

Spritz curls with a light-weight spray, like DevaCurl Flexible Hold Hair Spray ($9) to help curls stay put all day.
