5 Ways to get rid of pimples overnight

There's nothing more frustrating than waking up with a fresh pimple that just won't go away. You know the kind that really hurts when you touch it, obnoxiously protrudes, and literally sticks around for days? What's even more upsetting is not finding a way to get rid of these suckers without drying the hell out of your skin. I tested out a few overnight acne treatments–remedies included–that really seem to do the trick.  Check them out and thank me later!

There’s a reason why people swear by the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17) and it’s because this stuff really does dry up pesky pimples–even Kylie Jenner uses it! I applied a small amount to a really painful zit using a cotton swap, left it on overnight, and it was practically gone the following morning.

Try a warm water compress.

Try soaking a cloth or towel in warm water and pressing it on the pimple for a few minutes. I tried this a few times throughout the day until the pimple finally formed a head. It worked and didn’t leave a scar.

Use ice if it hurts.

If you have a really red pimple (the painful kind), try taking an ice cube and wrapping it in a cloth before pressing it down on your zit, for a few minutes. This helps bring down swelling and inflammation.

Use raw garlic.

Beauty vlogger Farah Dhukai posted a video on Instagram earlier this year, where she took a clove of garlic and rubbed it on a pimple. She said it was gone almost instantly.

Try a clay mask.

I find that certain clay masks work like a charm when it comes to shrinking pimples overnight. Try Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask ($62). I use it as a mask or spot-treatment, depending on my skin needs.
