You can't go into a store without seeing at least one charcoal product on the shelves. The absorbent ingredient has become a beauty fave because it lives up to its claims of minimizing pores, eschewing excess oil, and smoothing the skin. With so many products that target different parts of the body, we had to try them all!

Pore strip steps:
1. Wash face and make sure to keep the nose area sufficiently wet.
2. Remove pore strip from pouch and apply to the nose area (smooth side down). Even out any air bubbles by pressing along the strip. BioréDeep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips, $7.49; Ulta.com
3. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes.
4. Remove by slowly peeling off, starting at the edges going toward the center.
5. Clean off any residue with water.
Body polish steps:
1. Wet area(s) of skin that need buffing.
2. Apply body polish to wet skin and work into a lather. First Aid Beauty Cleansing Body Polish with Active Charcoal, $28; Ulta.com
3. Rinse off completely with water.
Rescue mask steps:
1. Wash face with preferred cleanser.
2. Towel dry and apply a generous amount of product to the face and throat, avoiding the eye area. Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque, $46; Ulta.com
3. Let it dry for 7-10 minutes.
4. Wet your hands and lightly massage the product to gently exfoliate.
5. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove product.
Pore refining mask steps:
1. Wash face with preferred cleanser.
2. Dry face entirely and apply a thin, even layer of the mask, avoiding the eye area. Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask, $25.50; Ulta.com
3. Let it dry for 10 minutes.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove product.
Bubble mask sheet steps:
1. Wash face with preferred cleanser.
2. Remove sheet from pouch and apply to the face. As it is only for the bottom half, align the sheet with nose and jawline areas. Tony Moly Bubble Mask Sheet, $6.50; Ulta.com
3. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until bubbles fully form.
4. Gently massage bubbles while the sheet is still on.
5. Remove the sheet and massage face with remaining bubbles.
6. Rinse off product with water.
