Kim Kardashian might be one of the most beautiful women in the world but that doesn't mean she's not insecure. In fact, the reality star–who has been pretty open about her struggle with psoriasis–recently blogged about it on her app and website. It hasn't always been easy but here's how she's dealing with it.

Kim was first diagnosed with psoriasis back in 2010 and has been vocal about it ever since. "I have that one patch on my right leg that is the most visible. I don't even really try to cover it that much anymore. Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?" she writes. "After this many years, I've learned to live with it."
While addressing rumors about butt injections, the Keeping Up With the Kardashian's star recently admitted to receiving cortisone shots to treat her psoriasis symptoms. In her blog post she mentions the first time she got it done was when she was living behind a Kitson in West Hollywood. "One of my neighbors happened to be a dermatologist. He saw that I had psoriasis and recommended that I get a cortisone shot to help combat the inflammation. So now, every few years, I get a cortisone shot to help combat the inflammation from my psoriasis."
Along with the shots, Kim also applies a topical cortisone ointment every night before bed and tries to avoid certain foods.
"There's no cure that we know of right now, but there are certain foods you should avoid to help prevent flare-ups-–acidic foods like tomatoes and eggplant, for instance," she writes. In the post, Kim includes a video of her showing off the psoriasis patches on her legs from an old photo shoot.

But not everyone sympathizes or finds Kim relatable when it comes to this condition. In May, a study released by Treato named Kim Kardashian the least positively discussed celebrity online by those with psoriasis. Psoriasis patients claimed to be annoyed by Kim's lack of participation in awareness campaigns and events. They felt like her diagnosis has only added more harm to the already established stigma of psoriasis.
I don't think it's fair to judge Kim when it comes to her personal struggle with psoriasis. It might not be as severe, but that doesn't make her battle with the disease any less real. As for her lack of participation in awareness campaigns, I can't explain that. But she probably will get involved at some point. The girl does have a way of always surprising us.
