Twice a week?
I hate to judge a mom with a newborn, but Kim Kardashian was being honest when she wrote on her app that she only washes her hair twice a week. I think that's just gross! I get that she is protecting her tresses, but I would exchange cleanliness over slickness any day of the week.
Shampoo
Kim Kardashian uses Leonor Greyl PARIS shampoo for damaged hair. Maybe the price tag is the reason she only washes her hair twice a week. It costs $67 for 7 oz. Just to compare, a regular bottle of shampoo has between 13 and 17 oz.
Hair oil
This Roding luxury hair oil goes for $70 at Barneys New York. It's presented as a delicious mix of apricot, calendula, sweet almond, sunflower, neroli, rosemary and juniper oils. I have the feeling it smells heavenly, but I much rather use coconut oil which will only set you back less than $20 –if you buy a super duper expensive one — and will last much longer.
Conditioner
This is her secret to make her hair look shiny and healthy all the time. For $20, I think I can try this one.
Hair perfector
This product is supposed to help you straighten your hair, between professional treatments. It seems complicated, but I guess is a way to avoid too much damage to the hair. It costs $22 after discounts.
Hair Mask
According to the manufacturer, this hair mask is created following an "ancient recipe made from the rejuvenating Tahitian tiare gardenia flower and copra coconut oil, which is called Monoi Oil." Apparently Tahitians have used it more than 2,000 years. For $32, it's supposed to make your hair stronger and longer.
Hair moisturizer
Cuban stylist to he stars, Oribe, got a mega nod from the queen of reality TV, when Kim K recommended his hair moisturizing cream. It's made with "wheat amino acids and watermelon extract to fight frizz." Oribe knows hair, but for $49 it better work!
Braids
Kim Kardashian also said that she would be using a lot of braids during her first weeks with Saint at home, to keep her hair tidy, without products. Here is her and her daughter look during the holidays.
For beach waves
For loose beach waves, which are trendy even during winter, Kim Kardashian recommends the product Sachajuan Ocean Mist. Here is a cool tutorial about how to use it. It costs $31
A very expensive hair brush
Apparently, this Mason Pearson hair brush won't cause split ends or irritate the scalp, but that will cost you $205. Worth it? Not to me, even if I had the money.
