Jessica Alba wants our natural beauty to shine. The Latina celebrity turned billionaire entrepreneur launched The Honest Company in 2012. It quickly became a leader in all natural baby and home products. Of course, she still has that sunscreen controversy looming over her head. I have to admit, I was pretty excited once Alba announced the launch of the Honest Beauty line. I'm drawn to natural and affordable makeup products. It's an added bonus that Alba is a Latina creating her own line with us in mind. She told Us Weekly during her Honest Beauty event in New York City:
"Honest Beauty represents diverse beauty. The payoff of our products are second to none–they're gorgeous. Because I have so much experience with movies and TV and red carpet, I needed the beauty products to really last. But I also wanted to be able to do a 10-minute face when I'm, like, hanging out with the kids on the weekend. [These are] dynamic products that make you look awesome."
Judging by Alba's flawless look, I believe her!
The businesswoman hasn't accomplished all of this success without a few bumps in the road. She's currently fighting two class action lawsuits seeking $5 million each for her reportedly faulty sunscreen. "It pains me that anyone doesn't have an incredible experience with Honest Company," she told the publication. Alba plans on hosting educational workshops about sunscreen protection. I'm not sure if that will save her from having to cough up the money, but the beauty line sounds pretty promising.
Keep making moves, Alba!
