Every Latina makeup enthusiast's dream has just come true! Yesterday, M.A.C cosmetics officially announced the release of a limited-collection makeup line inspired by Selena Quintanilla. Yes, bow to the queen! As a little girl, I remember applying my mom's red lipstick, playing "Amor Prohibido" and pretending to be Selena in front of the mirror. The launch of this collection touches a nostaglic place in my heart and makes me feel like Selena's memory is truly timeless. The collection is set to debut in 2016. "Selena's talent and beauty, inside and out, have left a colorful, meaningful impact in the world that has continued to grow over the last two decades," said M.A.C creative director James Gager to People.

This was her dream
Quintanilla launched her own fashion line and had high hopes for owning her own makeup line one day. Her sister Suzette told People, "Helping to create this collection brings me back to all those late night conversations on our tour bus when she spoke of having her own makeup line one day. If Selena were here she would be beyond ecstatic to have this happening. History is being made.”

There are countless of makeup tutorials from amazing Latina vloggers teaching us how to recreate the Queen of Tejano Music's makeup looks. Once the line drops in 2016, there will be even more videos inspiring women to recreate Selena's look.
Our voices were heard
The Mac line was officially announced after about 37,000 fans signed an online petition at Change.org to make the project happen. "We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies M.A.C.’s philosophy," said MAC's Senior Vice President James Gager.
We can all have a little Selena swagger
Quintanilla was a true Latina trendsetter. She wasn't afraid of breaking the fashion mold and rocking edgy looks, which is just what we're about. We can share that same attitude when we rock her makeup.
It's not just lipstick
Although details of the products haven't been released, the line is set to include liner shades and dark brow pencils along with matte lipsticks. What's not to love about that?
