Jennifer Lopez solidified herself as a fashion icon years ago! From the moment she walked on the 1999 Grammy red carpet with that green tropical Versace dress she claimed her spot as a celebrity trendsetter. Her looks following that event just kept getting better–especially after she launched her own clothing line in 2001. Who didn't want a J.Lo belly shirt back then? The J.Lo belly shirt
When the Boricua pop star first launched her clothing line J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez back in 2001, she had all of us hooked with her stretchy boot-cut jeans for curvy women and those belly shirts showcasing Puerto Rican pride. With this outfit, who didn't want to look just like Jenny From the Block?
The gitana style
Lopez showed off her Latina pride by creating her own gitana-inspired look for her video back in 2001, "Ain't It Funny." She really knew how to pull off a long wrap skirt and belly top!
The pink velour jumpsuit
J.Lo first rocked her pink velour jumpsuit on the set of her video for "I'm Real" featuring Ja Rule. After that the tight jumpsuits became somewhat of her trademark. She rocked them on her days off and even while hitting up the MTV studio in 2002.
The fur coat look
In the early 2000s, Lopez was always seen rocking a fur coat and looking extra glam on the red carpet. PETA probably wasn't pleased, but Lopez's attitude suggests she doesn't seem to mind one bit.
The glam head scarf
In 2003, J.Lo really tried to make fancy head scarves a thing. I can't say this was her best throwback fashion moment, but at least she tried to set a style trend.
The retro look
In 2007, J.Lo was rocking knee-high boots before any of us had the nerve to! She knew how to model it with a retro mini dress that showed all legs. Jenny rocked it!
The military flow
J.Lo was paying homage to Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" military style in this getup back in 2007. She looks pretty badass if you ask me!
Flared jeans
Before the skinny jeans took over, it was all about the flared and boot-cut jeans. J.Lo always modeled them like a pro. I believe her ex Marc Anthony also felt the same way judging by this photo!
The tight denim jumpsuit
Jumpsuits are back in style, but guess who was making them a trend before they became one? J.Lo was spotted rocking a skin tight jean jumpsuit back in 2008. Wow…was she able to breath in that?
Her boho style
J.Lo made the boho look her trademark since the early 2000s, but she slowly was able to perfect it to pure sexiness. Just look at her posing like a diva here.
